Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher makes his official debut in Season 2 of Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil series. He starred in his own spin-off series The Punisher, which ran for two seasons.
It was previously announced that Bernthal will reprise his role in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again, which will premiere on Disney+ next March.
Marvel Entertainment has now released a video highlighting some of the upcoming MCU projects coming to Disney+ next year. The video includes footage from Daredevil: Born Again, which features a glimpse of Bernthal’s Punisher.

Is the Netflix Daredevil series set in the MCU?
The Netflix Daredevil series is technically set within the same continuity as the MCU; However, the show was intentionally given a darker tone and avoided any kind of crossovers with other major MCU properties. However, it was linked to The Defenders, which saw characters from other Netflix shows – Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage – coming together to defeat a common enemy.
Since the show ended, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock has gradually appeared in a number of other MCU projects, including 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and 2024’s Echo.
A recently released Marvel video shows Cox’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Vincent D’Onofrio at each other’s throats once again. Additionally, the series will see Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Ayelet Zurer, and Wilson Bethel reprise their roles as Karen Page, Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Vanessa Mariana Fisk, and Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
