Christopher NolanThe next film will use an entirely new type of IMAX technology.
Following the massive critical and financial success of 2023’s Oppenheimer, Nolan is now working on an untitled feature film set for release in 2026. The film will star Matt Damon, with whom Nolan previously worked on Oppenheimer, 2014’s Interstellar and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home .
per diverseit has now been announced that Nolan – known for directing 2000’s Memento, 2006’s The Prestige, 2008’s The Dark Knight, 2010’s Inception, 2017’s Dunkirk, and 2020’s Tenet in addition to the aforementioned titles – will be using some brand new IMAX technology when he makes his film. Next.
IMAX CEO Richard Gillund made the announcement during a call with investors and analysts. He said: “I am thrilled to announce that Chris will be using new Imax technology to make the film – never before used equipment that our team has been developing over the past year.”
What do we know about Christopher Nolan’s next film?
The official synopsis for Nolan’s upcoming film has not been revealed yet; However, there has been no shortage of rumors online as to what it might be like. While there have previously been theories suggesting it could be a vampire horror film or something in the espionage genre, recent rumors suggest it could be about aerial helicopter cops, one older and one younger.
Holland recently said in an interview with Good morning America He was “obviously honored” to star in the film.
“When the opportunity came up, it was the call of a lifetime — reminiscent of the call we got about Spider-Man 10 years ago. It’s amazing to me. I’m very proud and I’m really excited,” he said.
Nolan’s next film has a release date of July 17, 2026 from Universal Pictures.
