The Lion King Video Highlights Original Soundtrack by Lin-Manuel Miranda

New Disney shared Mufasa: The Lion King Video of the upcoming musical installment of the 2019 remake of The Lion King. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 20, 2024.

“The film explores the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands. Rafiki brings the legend of Mufasa to the young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa bringing their own distinct flair. “The story is told in flashbacks, presenting Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion His name is Taka – heir to the royal line. A chance encounter sets off an expansive journey for an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny – their bonds will be tested as they work together to avoid a threatening and deadly enemy.

What happens in the Mufasa: The Lion King video?

The video features Academy Award-winning director Barry Jenkins and Grammy Award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda talking about Miranda’s original songs for Mufasa: The Lion King, including “I Always Wanted A Brother” and “Milele.” According to the Hamilton star, “Melili” was the hardest song he had to write for the film. Only the songs and deluxe versions of the original soundtrack will be officially available on December 13.

Mufasa is directed by Jenkins from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. Just like the first film, the film will blend live-action filmmaking techniques with real-life computer-generated imagery. Featuring the voices of Aaron Beier, Kelvin Harrison Jr., John Kani, Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Ledega, Preston Nyman, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Lennie James, Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Blue Ivy Carter, Praline Rankins, Theo Somolu, Foleke Olowofoyeko, Joanna Jones, Thuso Mbidu, Sheila Atim, Abdul Alsalis, Dominique Jennings and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
