Scream! Studios announced The dead do not suffer Blu-ray release date for actor-director Viggo Mortensen’s latest epic Western drama, starring Phantom Thread’s Vicky Krieps. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
“It is the story of star-crossed lovers on the western frontier of the United States in the 1860s. Vivian Le Cody is a fiercely independent woman who begins a relationship with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen. After meeting Olsen in San Francisco, she agrees to travel with him to his home near the town of Elk Flats Quiet Nevada, where they begin a life together, they are separated by the outbreak of civil war when Olsen makes a fateful decision to fight for the Union. This leaves Vivian to fend for herself in a place controlled by corrupt Mayor Rudolph Schiller and his unscrupulous business partner, the powerful rancher Alfred Jeffries When Olsen returns from the war, he and Vivian must confront and come to terms with the person they have both become.
