According to a Deadline report, Dillahunt will play William Macon, a “modern-day cowboy” who is described as “a self-confident, conspiracy-minded man who hides his ruthless ambition behind a charming, calculating façade.”
Dillahunt is best known for his roles in the hit dramas Deadwood and Fear the Walking Dead. He has also starred in a number of other notable projects, including No Country for Old Men, ER, The 4400, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Winter’s Bone, Looper, and 12 Years a Slave.

The Lanterns will star Aaron Bier as John Stewart alongside Kyle Chandler, who has been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming series. A Separate reporting from THR It indicates that HBO is looking to start filming in January-June of next year, so more information should be coming soon.

It received an official direct-to-series order on HBO last June 2024, more than a year since the 8-episode project was first announced in January 2023.
