Autopsy Room IV is written and directed by Ranjit S. Marwah. It will be executive produced by John Levine.
The story “dives into the mind of a man who, after a life-threatening accident, awakens to find himself trapped in an autopsy room,” Deadline’s description of the plot says. “As he faces his death, the story navigates themes of fear, survival, and the unknown.”
Following its publications in Six Stories and Robert Bloch’s Psychos, Anatomy Chamber IV was collected in 2002 in The Ultimate Everything. It was then made into an hour-long television episode that was featured on the Turner Network Television series Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King.
Marwa’s previous films include: Memoirs of a Sikh Soldier in 2018, The Missing in 2019, Rupture in 2022, Spring Lakes in 2023, Ballistic in 2024, and other films. According to Deadline, his 2012 short book The Man Who Loved Flowers was inspired by King’s works.
Levine was an executive producer on 2019’s In the Tall Grass, a film based on King and Joe Hill’s 2012 novel of the same name. Available to watch and stream on Netflix, it stars Patrick Wilson, Harrison Gilbertson, Lesla de Oliveira, Rachel Wilson, and more.
Levine has also been involved in projects like 2017’s The Breadwinner, 2017’s Marshall, 2020’s Stargirl, 2020’s Cut Throat City, and more.
No information about the selection of the fourth autopsy room has been announced at this time. A release date has not yet been set.
