WWE star-turned-actor John Cena and Emmy Award-winning comedian Eric Andre have signed on to star in the upcoming Netflix comedy titled Little brother. Currently, the project is still in the early development stage.
After his successful career in WWE, Cena also gained recognition for his roles in several comedy films such as Blockers, Playing with Fire, Vacation Friends, and Ricky Stanicky. He also starred in blockbuster films like F9: The Fast Saga and the live-action Barbie movie. Meanwhile, Andre’s film credits include Rough Night, Bad Trip, The Mitchells vs. Machines, Trolls Band Together, and The Lion King.
What is Little Brother about?
Netflix’s Little Brother is written by Jarrad Bull and Andrew Mogill. The film was produced by David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer. At the moment, there is no director, target production start date, or release date yet.
“The film follows a famous real estate agent whose carefully curated world is turned upside down when his eccentric ‘little brother’ unexpectedly reappears,” the official synopsis reads.
Besides Little Brother, Cena is also attached to star in several films, including the live-action Mattel film Matchbox with Jessica Biel and the thriller Heads of State with Idris Elba. He will also reprise his fan-favorite DC role in The Peacemaker’s long-awaited second season, which is expected to debut sometime in 2025. As for Andre, who is coming off winning his first Emmy for Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Short He will also next appear in the action comedy Balls Up with Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser.
