Montgomery, Alabama Mass Shooting Leaves 2 Dead and 12 Injured

Two Dead and 12 Hurt in Alabama Mass Shooting After Footb..., A tragic mass shooting erupted late Saturday night in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, leaving two people dead and at least 12 others wounded, including two children.

Chaos in a Crowded Nightlife District

According to TMZ, the violence broke out around 11:30 p.m. on October 4 in Montgomery’s busy nightlife area, just after large crowds had gathered following the Tuskegee University football game.

Montgomery Police Chief James Grabwes described the incident as a “mass shooting” involving two rival groups.
“This was two parties shooting at each other in the middle of a crowd,” Grabwes told CNN. “They showed no regard for the people around them.”

From Street Fight to Gunfire

Authorities believe the violence began as a fight between two opposing groups before escalating into an exchange of gunfire that spilled across the packed streets.

One of the victims killed was a woman. Among the injured were two children, one of whom remains in critical condition. Local outlet WSFA reported that three victims—including the child—are fighting for their lives.

Ongoing Investigation

As of early Sunday, no arrests had been made. Police are still interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence from the scene.
“We will do everything necessary to collect every piece of evidence and hold those involved accountable,” Chief Grabwes stated.

The Montgomery shooting adds to the growing number of mass shootings across the United States this year, once again raising questions about public safety in crowded community spaces.
