A film based on ClayfaceIconography Batman villainhas been approved to enter production soon before Capital Studioswith the scenario he prepared Mike Flanagan. Clayface is one of the most memorable villains of The Caped Crusader who has appeared in numerous DC comics and animated television shows. Originally, Clayface first appeared in June 1940 in DC Comics in issue #40. The villain was created by Boone Kane and Bill Finger.
A Clayface movie is in development at DC Studios
According to reports, a source recently revealed that DC Studios may be working on a full-length Clayface movie.
Additionally, the studio is bringing in Mike Flanagan to write the film’s script, the source claims diverse. The Doctor Sleep director has earned a reputation for himself with his excellent work in the horror genre. Although the details of the film’s story are still secret, filming may begin in 2025.
Clayface has officially debuted in the new DC Universe through the recently released animated show, Creature Commandos. In the Max series, Clayface is voiced by none other than Alan Tudyk. He also voices Dr. Phosphorus in the same series. However, whether he will be the one to bring the character to life in live-action remains a mystery. DC has yet to comment on the Clayface movie that is said to be in the works.
As previously reported, Clayface was previously pitched to DC Studios by Flanagan. The director revealed this information in a podcast episode with Script apart. “I went to Warner Bros. for a meeting about DC,” he said. Flanagan added that the meeting was with producer Jon Berg about whether he could be assigned to a project in the DCEU. He said to them: I really want to[ed] To do Clayface.
Flanagan also revealed that he wanted to make Clayface “horror-leaning” and pitched that to the producers. He also stated that if Clayface was not greenlit he would be open to doing so in “Scarecrow and Justice League Dark and Constantine”. However, the outcome of the meeting was not in Flanagan’s favor, as “[Berg] I didn’t really understand any of this stuff.
