With the M4 chip installed, the new MacBook Pro is up to 1.8 times faster than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip, Apple said. The higher-end PCs come with M4 Pro and M4 Max versions of the new, more powerful chip.
Apple has unveiled an iMac with the M4 With Apple Intelligence on Monday at $1,299. Deliveries of both the MacBook Pro and iMac will begin on November 8.
