James Gunn He shot down rumors that the music star Dua Lipa will appear in DC Universe For the next decade.
Recently, rumors have been flying that Dua Lipa has signed a massive 10-year contract to play the character Zatanna in the DCU. The rumor was shared by popular Instagram account DeuxMoi, but Gunn took to Threads to address the noise.
What did James Gunn say about Dua Lipa’s DCU rumor?
In his response to a Threads post, Gunn officially called the news “debunked” and said that not only was it untrue, but the concept of a 10-year deal was ridiculous in itself as well.
“Up to this point that hasn’t been the case, but even now it’s been debunked as well. ‘A 10-year contract’? Do they think this is the 1930s? I’m a Dua Lipa fan, but no,” Gunn said in his response to Threads.

Gunn also explained how contracts are typically concluded, telling one fan who asked about David Corenswet’s contract status with the DCU that actors typically sign up for multiple projects rather than a number of years.
Although Dua Lipa will not be appearing in the DCU, Gunn recently revealed that Benjamin Byron Davis will appear as Robert Thorne in the upcoming animated series Creature Commandos. This series will be the official start of the DCU when it premieres on December 5, 2024.
