Hasan Becker, also known as HasanAbi on Twitch, attributes allegations of his dog Kaya being “abused” by him to “crazy haters”.
In the clip below, Hassan addressed the allegations, which appear to have spread around certain corners of X regarding footage of the dog making a short sound during the broadcast.
“They claim that the most trained, most spoiled, best-cared-for dog on the planet is being abused by me, apparently,” Hassan said. “Because I gave her the command of the place while she was coming down [the bed] Then I screamed.”
According to Hassan, Kaya “broke” her previous bed.
“I suspect it’s coming from, you know, some crazy haters,” Hassan said of the allegations that followed before jokingly responding to a comment from the stream chat. “‘They said you hit her with a button.’ Yes, in my evil lair. Good thing I didn’t hit the trap door button instead by accident.
As for the scream itself, Hassan said it was likely that Kaya “either stepped up in a funny way or hit her foot on something.”
In June, Hassan made headlines after he was among a group of protesters who were boiled and severely beaten at a demonstration against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Earlier this year, he used his popularity as a progressive figure to bring attention to imprisoned firefighters who were risking their lives while fighting devastating fires in the Los Angeles area.
“Many of us made decisions before our brains could develop, before the age of 25,” one prisoner told the broadcaster at the time. “This is our second chance. At this point, it’s a blessing.”
