Max Ehrich, the actor and singer who was once engaged to Demi Lovato, spoke about his recent struggles, saying he’s grateful to be here after what he described as a horrific series of events.
In a statement shared exclusively through his partners Desi Child and Patheja Entertainment, Ehrich opened up about what he went through.
“This last experience was one that I don’t have many words to describe,” he said exclusively. “I would like to thank all those who prayed for my safety, I am very lucky and grateful to be alive after being kidnapped and drugged. I feel in my heart that I want to spread love through music, because this is the only thing that kept me alive in prison and now in rehab. I sang for hours on end. People’s spirits were lifted, and I hope the same will happen to others.”
According to a report from TMZ, The 33-year-old was arrested earlier this week in Florida after an argument with his mother turned physical. Police say the incident occurred while he was under the influence of nitrous oxide, a substance he admitted inhaling in the days before his arrest.
Authorities confirmed that he was booked for domestic violence and then placed on psychiatric hold under Florida’s Baker Act.
Irish’s statement acknowledged how these events changed his perspective, citing his music as an outlet and lifeline.
“Learning to Love is a song near and dear to my soul,” he explained, referring to the piece of music written in Nashville. “It’s about letting your guard down and being vulnerable. I was always afraid to be vulnerable like that, but after these recent events, I want to express myself through music and my journey. I wrote this with my friends in Nashville with the purest people. I love you all. God bless you.”
TMZ It was reported that Irish told them that he was in Los Angeles days before his arrest when three gang members kidnapped him.
He claimed that these individuals provided him with nitrous, which he continued to take for approximately a week before traveling to Florida to stay with his parents. His mother tried to intervene and persuade him to stop using the inhalant, but the confrontation developed into violence.
During the altercation, Irish allegedly chased his mother into a neighbor’s yard, pushed her to the ground, and kicked her in the thigh, the police report said.
Although she was not seriously injured, officers noted that she told them that her son was a “heavy inhalant user” and that he had taken nitrous just before the fight. Irish was reportedly still out of breath during the live broadcast on social media and even while speaking to police at the scene.
Now, Irish says his focus is on recovery and rebuilding. He said TMZ He intends to remain in treatment for at least 30 days once his psychiatric detention period ends.
He also said that “Learning 2 Love” It will be available on all platforms later tonightOctober 10, and shared the exclusive cover image.
