Netflix has revealed the release date window for Fear Street: Prom Queenthe upcoming fourth entry in the Fear Street film series.
Fear Street: Prom Queen is set in 1988, and takes place between the first three films: Fear Street 1: 1994, Fear Street 2: 1978, and Fear Street 3: 1666. All three films are based on the book by R. L. Stine. A series of the same name arrived on Netflix in July 2021.
Matt Palmer (Caliber) directed Fear Street: Prom Queen, based on Stine’s 1992 book The Prom Queen. It is the first time the franchise has adapted a specific book by Stine.
When is the Netflix release date for Fear Street: Prom Queen?
The newly released poster suggests that the upcoming feature will be released sometime in 2025. Palmer co-wrote the script for Fear Street: Prom Queen with Donald McCleary.
Fear Street: Prom Queen stars Indya Fowler (The Nevers), Susanna Sohn (The Idol), Vina Strazza (Above the Shadows), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Chris Klein (Sweet Magnolia), Lili Taylor (The Outer Range), and Katherine Waterston (The End Where We Begin).
The official synopsis for Fear Street: Prom Queen reads: “In this next installment in the blood-soaked Fear Street series, prom season begins at Shadyside High and the school’s wolf pack of It Girls is busy with their usual sweet and naughty campaigns for the crown. But when… A brave stranger unexpectedly comes to court, other girls begin to mysteriously disappear, and Class 88 is suddenly preparing for prom night.
The film’s producers include Peter Chernin, Gino Topping, and Corey Adelson.
The first three parts, directed by Leigh Janiak, are available to stream on Netflix. Fear Street: Prom Queen will be released in 2025.
