Netflix has acquired the rights to the fantasy romance novel titled, mercuryWritten by bestselling author Callie Hart. The streaming giant won the project in an intense bidding war for a seven-figure deal.

The project will be produced by Cantillon’s Elizabeth Cantillon, who previously worked with Netflix on the film adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Persuasion. Hart also signed on to serve as executive producer. At the moment, there is no writer-director attached to it yet.

What is Quicksilver?

Published last June, Quicksilver is described as an enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance about a human rebel who is transported to another world, where she meets a handsome Fae warrior named Kingfisher. The novel gained popularity through TikTok. Hart is expected to release two sequels, with the second part scheduled for release in the fall of 2025.
