New Evil Dead Movie Gets Official Title, Release Date Window

In a recent Instagram post, Vaniček shared the first page of the film’s script. The title of the film, Evil Dead Burn, can be seen, as well as the credits listing Vaniček and Florent Bernard as co-writers on the project. The script also indicates that it is based on Sam Raimi’s popular film series The Evil Dead.

In the caption of the post, Vaniček confirms that the film is scheduled to be released sometime in 2026.

Currently, nothing is known about Evil Dead Burn, but Vaniček told French about it Konbini website Earlier this year, he said the film would be “bad” and hoped viewers would walk away from the film feeling “tested.”

“I told the studio I wanted to make a bad movie, a painful movie, that you would get out of with an audition,” Vanecek said. “I’m going to put all the horror I have inside of me, it’ll be healing, and if I don’t ruin my career and I can keep making films behind it, I’ll move on to something other than horror!”

Prior to his work on the new Evil Dead film, Vanicek directed the 2023 horror film Infested, which he also co-wrote alongside Bernard.

The film will be a follow-up to Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise, which was released in 2023 and became a massive hit. There’s also an untitled seventh Evil Dead film set to be written and directed by Francis Gallupi, but nothing is known about that project yet.

The Evil Dead franchise began in 1981 with Raimi’s original film, and was later followed by two sequels, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. The series took a short hiatus until 2013 when Fede Alvarez revived the series with a reimagined film.
