The first episode of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga – the anime remake of the Straw Hat Crew’s first post-timeskip adventure – aired on November 3, 2024.

In *One Piece*, each Straw Hat Pirate undergoes intense training during the two-year timeskip, preparing to face the challenges of the New World. Here’s how each member trained and improved their skills:

1. Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy trained on the island of Ruskaina under the guidance of Silvers Rayleigh, former first mate of the Pirate King. He focused on mastering Haki, a crucial ability for surviving in the New World. He learned all three types of Haki: Observation, Armament, and Conqueror’s Haki, which would become essential tools in his battles.

2. Roronoa Zoro

Zoro trained with Dracule Mihawk, the world’s strongest swordsman, on Kuraigana Island. Under Mihawk’s intense instruction, Zoro refined his swordsmanship and physical strength. He also improved his control over his techniques, preparing to protect his crew as the ship’s swordsman.

 3. Nami

Nami traveled to the weather-focused island of Weatheria, where she studied advanced meteorology. She gained new knowledge about weather manipulation, enhancing her Clima-Tact weapon. This training allowed her to manipulate the weather more effectively during battles, increasing her offensive and defensive abilities.

 4. Usopp

Usopp trained on the Boin Archipelago, an island with deadly plants. He developed greater strength and stamina, and he improved his sniper skills by learning how to utilize the island’s unique plant-based weapons, called Pop Greens. This gave him an array of new, versatile attacks.

 5. Sanji

Sanji trained on the Kamabakka Kingdom under Emporio Ivankov. Besides refining his martial arts skills, he learned the powerful “Sky Walk” technique, which allowed him to walk on air. He also improved his speed and strength, making him a more formidable close-range fighter.

6. Tony Tony Chopper

Chopper studied in the Torino Kingdom, where he learned about new medical practices and natural remedies. He enhanced his Rumble Ball transformations, granting him better control over his various forms and making him more effective in combat and as the crew’s doctor.

7. Nico Robin

Robin trained with the Revolutionary Army, where she honed her knowledge of combat and tactics. She strengthened her Devil Fruit abilities, allowing her to create larger and more powerful body part replicas, making her a more versatile and effective fighter.

8. Franky

Franky went to Karakuri Island, home to Dr. Vegapunk’s lab. There, he upgraded his body and weapons, becoming a powerful cyborg. Franky added new, high-tech features and powerful attacks, such as the Franky Radical Beam, boosting his destructive capabilities.

 9. Brook

Brook trained on Namakura Island, where he improved his swordsmanship and explored new aspects of his Revive-Revive Fruit abilities. He learned to use his soul to perform unique techniques, like detaching his spirit for reconnaissance, making him a stronger and more versatile fighter.

These two years of dedicated training transformed each Straw Hat, preparing them to take on the powerful foes and unpredictable challenges in the New World. Their growth in skill and experience allowed them to face these new threats as a stronger, united crew.
