Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe He is set to fight the Roman Empire once again in a new project called… The last Druids.
According to the plot description, The Last Druid “tells the story of a Roman emperor who discovers a secluded Druid stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia. A peaceful Celtic elder must awaken the warrior within him to protect his family and people from complete annihilation.”
Who will direct The Last Druid?
Underwater filmmaker Will Eubank is set to direct The Last Druid from a script he wrote alongside Phil Gawthorne and Carlyle Eubank. Eubank’s directorial credits include Love, The Signal, Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, and Badland. In addition to The Last Druid, Eubank is also set to direct the thriller The Epiphany.
The project will be produced by Ben Pugh, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger and Adrián Guerra, with Brandon Milan, Sam Wasson and George Hsieh executive producing.
The Last of Druid will mark Crowe’s next collaboration with Eubank, having previously worked with the director on the action thriller Land of Bad opposite Liam Hemsworth, Luke Hemsworth, Ricky Whittle and Milo Ventimiglia.
Crowe is best known for his role as Maximus in Ridley Scott’s 2000 historical epic Gladiator, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. Some of the actor’s best roles include A Beautiful Mind as John Nash, The Insider as Jeffrey, L.A. Confidential as Bud, Cinderella Man as Jim Braddock, The Next Three Days as John Brennan, American Gangster as Richie, and Les Misérables as Inspector Javert. and The Nice Guys as Jackson Healy.
Crowe’s recent feature credits include Unhinged, Thor: Love and Thunder, Pricefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Poker Face, The Pope’s Exorcist, Sleeping Dogs, and The Exorcism.
He can next be seen as Nikolai Kravinoff in Kraven the Hunter and Hermann Goering in Nuremberg.
