Secret Predator Movie Is Reportedly an Animated Anthology

The mysterious secret Predator movie revealed last week could be an animated anthology film, according to a recent report from io9.

In a post on Gizmodo, io9 noted that multiple sources told them that the secret project is actually an animated film — an “almost an anthology” that tells three separate stories focusing on predators fighting against warriors across multiple eras. io9 points out that one era might see predators fighting pirates, while another could see samurai fighting.

At the moment, not much is known about the upcoming film, other than the fact that it will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg. Trachtenberg directed 2022’s Prey, and will also direct the upcoming Predator: Badlands.

What else do we know about the secret Predator movie?

20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell has revealed that a secret Predator film will be in production alongside the previously known film. Predator: Badlands. The mystery film, according to Asbell, was one of many “really crazy but really cool” ideas that director Dan Trachtenberg pitched to studios.

“After Prey was a hit, Dan [Trachtenberg] He came back and said he didn’t want to do Prey 2. And we’re like, “What do you want to do?” “He came up with a bunch of ideas that were really crazy but really cool,” Asbell said. “We’ve already done two of them. Two are coming out next year. One of them I can’t talk about yet, but the other one is the live-action Predator movie starring Elle Fanning that just finished in New Zealand. It will be released theatrically sometime next year.”

The other project “I can’t say anything about yet” is also a Predator film directed by Trachtenberg, Asbell explained. It will be released before Predator: Badlands, though it’s unclear whether it will be released theatrically or not.
