Sylvester Stallone will no longer star in the film reboot Interesting ending.
In May 2023, it was announced that Stallone would reprise his role as Gabe Walker in the reboot of the 1993 film Cliffhanger. However, Stallone has withdrawn from the project, which is currently filming.
Who’s involved in the Cliffhanger reboot?
The Cliffhanger reboot is now being played by Jaume Collet-Serra instead of Ric Roman Waugh. Colette-Serra’s previous films include 2005’s House of Wax, 2014’s Non-Stop, 2016’s The Shallows, 2021’s Jungle Cruise, and 2022’s Black Adam, among others.
The film stars Pierce Brosnan as a “seasoned mountaineer” named Ray Cooper, while Lily James will play his daughter Naomi. The film’s cast also includes Neil Tiger Free, Franz Rogowski, Shubham Saraf, Asad Bawab, Suzy Bemba, and Bruno Goiri.
“In this Cliffhanger reboot, veteran mountaineer Ray Cooper (Pierce Brosnan) and his daughter Sydney run a mountain chalet in the Dolomites,” the official synopsis reads. “During a weekend trip with a billionaire’s son, they are targeted by a gang of kidnappers. Ray’s eldest daughter Naomi (Lily James), still haunted by a previous climbing accident, witnesses the attack and flees. To save her family, she must face her fears and fight to survive in Italian Dolomites.

The remake of Cliffhanger is based on a story by Anna Lily Amirpour. Lars Sylvest, Joe Neurwater, Thorsten Schumacher, Neal Moritz, and Toby Jaffe are producing the film, while Amirpour, Colette Serra, James, Chance Wright, Gianluca Chakra, Hisham Al-Ghanem, Joseph Brandmeier, Jeff Most, Katie Most, and Matthew Steadman are producing. Philip Crozier, Kwesi Dixon, Jay Taylor, MTG, Rodrigo Tarazona, Robert Daley Jr., David Leiber, Kevan Van Thompson and Gala Gordon serve as executive producers.
“Shooting our film on location in the Dolomites using large format cameras was essential for us to show the scope and scale of the story we are telling,” Cole-Serra said in a statement. “We will be giving the audience a truly exciting and wonderful theatrical experience. Lily in particular has gone above and beyond in this role, giving real training and learning to climb. Her dedication has allowed us to capture some amazing shots that we could not have achieved otherwise, and she has amazed the entire crew with her commitment.” .
A release date for the Cliffhanger reboot has not yet been announced.
