Although the presentation can be seen as a simple transactional scene that serves as a wink and a nod to fans, what is said during this interaction could be the key for Jimmy to take one of the biggest steps in his grief journey. Sophie is a divorced mother with a child, so she’s a single parent like Jamie. They both deal with their own kind of loss. For once, instead of an awkward interaction that avoids the topic entirely, Sophie has a conversation with Jamie about Tia. It’s something he’s not really used to, and it’s something that could reignite a spark that has been extinguished since the tragic accident that took Tia’s life.
