The Black Phone 2 Cast Adds Prom Dates Star Arianna Rivas

Ariana Rivas joins the cast of the film Black phone 2.

The Black Phone 2 is an upcoming sequel to 2021’s The Black Phone. Ethan Hawke reprises his role as The Grabber in the film, while Mason Thames also returns as Finney.

Rivas played a character named Lexi in 2024’s Prom Dates, which is now streaming on Hulu. She has also been cast in David Ayer’s next film Levon’s Trade, which was written by Sylvester Stallone and based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Chuck Dixon. Jason Statham, David Harbour, and Michael Peña will also star in Levon’s Trade, which will be released in January 2025.

Plot details for The Black Phone 2 remain under wraps at this time. Along with Timms and Hawke, Jeremy Davies and Miguel Cázarez Mora reprise their roles as Terrence and Robin. Demian Bichir has been cast in an unknown role.

Scott Derrickson, who directed the first film, returns to helm The Black Phone 2. Derrickson wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill, both of whom are also producing the film alongside Jason Blum. Joe Hill, who wrote the 2004 short story on which the first film was based, serves as executive producer.

The synopsis for the first film reads: “Vinnie Shaw is a shy but intelligent 13-year-old boy who is held captive in a soundproof basement by a sadistic masked killer. When a disconnected phone on the wall starts ringing, he soon discovers he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims – and they are determined to make sure what happened to them won’t happen to Vinnie.

The Black Phone 2 releases in US theaters on October 17, 2025 from Universal Pictures.
