The Mandalorian & Grogu Cast Adds Returning Star From Disney+ Star Wars Series

Johnny Quinn will reprise his role as the Imperial Warlord in The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Coyne played an Imperial warlord in the seventh episode of the third season of The Mandalorian, which was released in 2023. In the episode, Coyne’s character and a number of other Imperial officials meet with Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon to discuss the Mandalorian’s plans regarding Mandalore. A group of warlords called the Shadow Council, who are secretly working against the New Republic.

Besides The Mandalorian, Quinn is known for playing Warden Edwin James on Fox’s Alcatraz and Dr. Arthur Lydgate on ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Plot details for The Mandalorian & Grogu remain under wraps at this time. Pedro Pascal returns to play Din Djarin, while Sigourney Weaver has been cast in an undisclosed role. It was also recently announced that The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White will play Rhota the Hutt, son of Jabba the Hutt.

“What we know from footage shown at D23 in August is that The Mandalorian & Grogu features landscapes reminiscent of Hoth in 1980s The Empire Strikes Back with AT-ATs,” Deadline’s article notes. “Also Babu Frick from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has a cameo alongside the red alien Zeb from Filoni’s animated series Star Wars: Rebels.”

From a screenplay co-written by Favreau and Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian & Grogu will hit US theaters on May 22, 2026.
