The new poster comes courtesy of Nerdist, who shared it across social media. The poster doesn’t reveal much of anything, but it does show off several key characters from the upcoming film. Includes some looks at some of the large-scale battles scheduled to take place in the film.

What is The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim?
The film’s synopsis reads: “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim takes place 183 years before the events recorded in the original trilogy, and tells the fate of the family of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan.” “A surprise attack by Wolf, the clever and ruthless lord of Dunlending who seeks revenge for his father’s death, forces Helm and his people to make a bold last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg – a great fortress that would later become known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, she must… Hera, daughter of Helm, must muster the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy bent on their complete destruction.
The film’s voice cast includes Brian Cox as Helm Hammerhand, Gaia Wise as Hera, Luke Pasqualino as Wolf, Miranda Otto as Eowyn (Otto reprises her role from Peter Jackson’s trilogy), and Sean Dooley as Fricka. Lauren Ashburn, Yazdan Kfoury, Benjamin Wainwright, Michael Wildman, Judd Akwodike, Bilal Hasnaa, and Janine Duvitsky.
The screenplay was written by Phoebe Gittins and Artie Papageorgiou, based on a story by Jeffrey Ades and Will Matthews. Kamiyama has previously worked on a number of Ghost in the Shell projects and has also directed episodes of Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Ultraman.
The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim will be released in US theaters on December 13, 2024, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
