Trey Edward Shults’ next film, a mystery project starring The Weeknd, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, has an official title and has been acquired by Lionsgate.
The name of the upcoming movie is Hurry tomorrow It will mark the final chapter in a trilogy of albums by The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye -. The film will serve as an extension of his upcoming album of the same name, and will be written and directed by Schulz (Waves).
What do we know about faster tomorrow?
Rumors about the project have been surfacing since earlier this year, when it was first reported that the film was in development. At the time, reports stated that both Shults and The Weekend had been working on the project in secret for several months.
It’s unclear if any other actors will be featured in the project besides Tesfaye, Ortega, and Keoghan just yet. The film is described as a “musical psychological thriller”. Report from Reel world Earlier this year he noted that rumors at the time indicated the film was a remake of the 1990 film Misery and would see Ortega playing The Weeknd’s deranged stalker.
In July 2023, Ortega shared a photo of a mysterious house on Instagram that resembles the one used in the movie Misery, which may reference the upcoming film.
