More than a decade after the series concluded its nine-season run, it was revealed that ABC has begun developing a television series Scrubs A reboot of the hit medical comedy series, which starred Zach Braff as J.D. Dorian. The original sitcom aired from 2001 to 2008 on NBC, and from 2009 to 2010 on ABC.

Who’s involved in the Scrubs reboot?

ABC’s Scrubs reboot is being developed by original series creator Bill Lawrence and 20th Television. However, if the project gets an official order from the network, Lawrence will not take on the role of showrunner. For now, additional details about its plot and potential cast are still under wraps.

A new group of medical students arrive to learn the ropes at Sacred Heart Hospital, where the instructors are J.D., Turk, Kelso, and the acerbic Dr. Cox. “J.D. continues his flirtation with Elliot as he imparts wisdom to a new chapter, which includes Lucy, Drew, Cole, and Maya,” reads the series’ official synopsis.

The original series was created and executive produced by Lawrence, who, after the cancellation of Scrubs, went on to produce popular Apple TV+ shows like Ted Lasso and Shrinking. Besides Braff, the series also starred Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn, Dave Franco, and more. Since its debut, the comedy show has received a positive response from viewers and critics, being nominated for 17 Emmy Awards throughout its nine seasons. It currently holds a Tomatometer score of 83% Rotten tomatoes.
