Sam Mendes The Beatles films I found George Harrison. Deadline confirms that Joseph Quinn is being targeted to star in an upcoming film series about the iconic band.

Deadline reports that Quinn is set to play Harrison in one of the four films Mendes is making based on the band. The report also comes just one day after director Ridley Scott announced that Paul Mescal – who co-starred alongside Queen in his film Gladiator II – will play Paul McCartney in upcoming projects.

The report also echoes reports from InsiderJeff Snyder stated that Quinn was a subject of interest in the films. Snyder also mentioned that Mescal, Barry Keoghan (whom Ringo Starr said was slated to play in the film) and Harris Dickinson were all eyed for the roles, something Deadline echoes in their report on Quinn.

If reports remain true, that would leave Mescal as Paul McCartney, Quinn as George Harrison, Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harry Dickinson as John Lennon in Mendes’ four planned films.

What do we know about Sam Mendes’ Beatles films?

In February 2024, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that Mendes was teaming up with Neal Street Productions to create four separate films about the Beatles. Mendes will direct the four films, each following the point of view of a particular band member.

“I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and I’m excited to challenge the idea of ​​what constitutes a trip to the movies,” Mendes said at the time of the announcement.

Mendes — known for directing 1999’s American Beauty , 2012’s Skyfall , 2019’s 1917 , and more — is producing the films alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor, while Jeff Jones serves as executive producer. Filming is expected to begin in 2025 in the UK, while all four films will be released in 2027.
