Fans were shocked to see A.J Cillian Murphy-She looks like a zombie in the recently released version After 28 years trailer, but a man comes forward claiming that the zombie isn’t actually Murphy.
Who is the zombie who looks like Cillian Murphy?
Speaking to The Guardian, British art dealer Angus Neill said that it is actually him playing the emaciated zombie who appears briefly in the trailer and not Murphy, who starred in the original 28 Days Later in 2002.
“Danny told me he had always had this role in mind,” Neil said. “So we met, we agreed, and I agreed to participate. On set he has an extraordinary ability to hypnotize you, and working with him on the film was a very intense experience.
Fans were quick to believe the zombie was Jim Murphy’s character from 28 Days Later due to the striking resemblance. Although Zombie is not Murphy, the actor has stated in the past that he would be open to returning to the series, and rumors have swirled that he will return in some form.
28 Years Later stars Jodie Comer (The Bikeriders), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Jack O’Connell (Ferrari), Erin Keleman (Solo: A Star Wars Story), and Edvin Riding (Royal Youth). Murphy may also reprise his role as Jim from 28 Days Later in the film, though it’s unclear how big a role the character will have.
Boyle’s upcoming sequel is the first film in a new trilogy. It was filmed back-to-back with the second film in the series, directed by Candyman and Nia DaCosta of The Marvels. The release date of this movie has not been announced yet.
28 Years Later will be released in US theaters on June 20, 2025 by Sony Pictures.
