Academy Award nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo ( House of Sand and Fog ) has officially signed on Wheel of time The cast of the third season of the upcoming installment of the hit fantasy drama from Amazon MGM Studios. This marks her latest major television project, after recently appearing in the HBO series The Penguin.

Aghdashloo is set to portray the role of Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan, a long-awaited character from the original book series. According to her character description, Elida is “the ruthlessly powerful Aes Sedai of Ajah the Red, as adept at politics as she is at mentoring, with a deep history with Moiraine and Siouan, and able to reconcile with both upon her return.” To the White Tower.
